Cutting boards

The art of designing and crafting end-grain cutting boards lies at the intersection of precision, patience, and a deep respect for wood itself. Each board begins not just as a functional object, but as a composition—where grain direction, color contrast, and natural character are carefully considered long before the first cut is made.

End-grain construction reveals the quiet beauty of wood at its core. By turning the fibers upward, the surface becomes both resilient and self-healing, while showcasing intricate patterns that cannot be achieved in any other way. Woods such as Elm, Maple, Walnut, Cherry, Oak and Birch each bring their own voice: the warm depth of Walnut, the bright clarity of Maple, the expressive grain of Elm, the richness of Cherry Wood, and the striking, almost painterly movement of Red Oak wood.

Designing these boards is a meticulous process of balance and rhythm—aligning tones, alternating textures, and building geometric or flowing patterns that feel both intentional and organic. Every segment is cut, rotated, and assembled with care, forming complex mosaics that transform simple materials into functional art.

The result is more than a cutting board—it is a handcrafted piece that carries the story of the wood, the hand of the maker, and the timeless beauty of thoughtful design.

More than a handmade piece—this is the artistry of woodworking. Our handcrafted wooden cups, bowls, and plates are created through the timeless craft of wood turning, where each curve is shaped by hand to reveal the living beauty of the grain. Maple, walnut, elm, and other carefully selected woods come to life with depth, texture, and character, finished in food-safe natural oils that enhance their warmth and glow.

These are not just objects—they are pieces that add soul to your home. The natural tones, the gentle feel, the quiet presence of real wood bring a sense of comfort, calm, and connection to nature into your everyday moments. No two are alike—choose a piece that speaks to you and fill your home with warmth that only true craftsmanship can offer

Experience the quiet magic of true craftsmanship in our handcrafted wooden products—each piece shaped on the lathe to reveal the living story within the wood. We work with a carefully selected range of species, from the soft, luminous tones of maple to the deep, earthy richness of walnut, the bold character of elm, and the striking contrasts found in olive, cherry, and other fine woods.

As each form takes shape, the grain begins to unfold—flowing lines, wild swirls, and subtle textures emerging as if by their own design. Colors shift from pale gold to warm amber, from chocolate browns to dramatic, almost sculptural contrasts. No two pieces ever follow the same path; each one becomes a small, natural artwork, guided by the unique structure of the wood itself.

Finished with food-safe natural oils, every surface is brought to a silky, tactile smoothness that invites daily use while preserving the integrity of the material. Durable, functional, and deeply expressive, these pieces are made to be held, used, and admired.

Each item is one of a kind—an intersection of nature and craft. Choose the one that speaks to you, and bring a timeless, organic beauty to your table.

Hello I am George

Raised in Nova Scotia, I bring over 15 years of experience in fine woodworking. As the owner of a small but well-equipped, fine shop called Three Dog Woodworking, I specialize in wood design, custom creations, and unique pieces, ranging from small items to larger works like custom furniture and fireplace mantels with built-in bookcases.

I take pride in crafting beautiful everyday items such as boxes, bowls, cutting boards, coasters, and small figures. Additionally, I design and build custom furniture and store fixtures with a focus on classic styles like the Morris chair and Titanic deck chairs.

All of my wood is sourced from local sawmills and sustainably managed plantations. Some of my favorite woods to work with include maple, poplar, white oak, yellow birch, and African mahogany. I strive to create pieces that are both period-appropriate and timeless, using the natural beauty of wood to enhance every design.

“Woodworking is the quiet art of shaping time and nature with patient hands, where every grain tells a story and every cut reveals a little more beauty”
